Travels: Fantasy Baseball-- Week 26

There is 2 1/2 weeks of regular season play to go. There are two leagues where the goal will be to advance in the standings. There are two leagues where the goal is to hang on. After the listing of the top players of last week, I will go into more detail about the strategy for each team.

Ahdo Muhka Svanasana needs to keep a lineup on the field, but has a healthy lead that it is unlikely to lose at this point. Good batting average over the final half month could be worth a few points.

The Moore Ons really, really need good pitching. A WHIP of 1.22 rather than 1.25 is worth 6 points at this time. A ERA of 3.58 instead of 3.73 is worth 4 points at this time. With very strong pitching by Medlen, Hamels, Cain, Greinke, Zimmermann, Wilson and Hanson, first place is still possible. MooreOns rank 17039 (+6452) in overall Yahoo standings. I brag if the team is in the top 1000.

For Yakking Muggers (Ottoneu), the plan is to start the top pitchers only where match ups look good, to fill the outfield as much as possible since the cap will not be hit, and to play Rizzo/Howard Morneau/Mauer against right handers only. The positions except for outfield are ahead of a 162 game pace, so the second place team has the advantage of being further away from season caps.

For the Darfish, the hope is to make up points in multiple categories, with ERA and WHIP being the opportunity for the most points. Fifth place, eight points away, would be in the money. Six points were made up last week as the team performance was balanced and outstanding. Pitching for the last three scoring periods has been great.
