Week 13
Asahi had another good week, even
spending some time in second place. Jay Bruce hit 6 HR! Yakking
Muggers hit, but for a change. did not pitch well. Hanley came back
last week and Aaron Hill arrives this week. Adho Muhka continues to
struggle. Wil Myers hit a grand slam against CC, who won; both players were active.

Last week, Asahi had the best overall
performance of the league in two categories-- 7 W, 17 HR, both two
higher than second place. A trade was offered, which
I could not turn down based on sabremetrics. I received Justin Verlander and Michael Bourn
for Allen Craig (6). The keeper value of Craig, who qualifies for OF
and 1B is undeniable, but his RBI and BA do not appear to be
sustainable based on high BABIP and high BA with runners on base.
Verlander has great FIP, but not so good ERA. I noticed an odd
velocity decline this year, except for one start where he averaged 95
mph. But, 92 mph is working for him and he just seems to be having
bad luck. The Ks are there.
