When Politicians Watch too Much TV

The New York Times, in their first news report, compares the selection of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate to George H.W. Bush's selection of Dan Quayle. Perhaps even fewer people have heard of Palin than had heard of Quayle.

Was Palin picked because of a few vocal pro-Hillary diehards that television "news" could not resist displaying for the last several months? (If so, one would think that Hillary and Sarah would be in agreement on some policy or another.)

Sarah Palin may be better than her obscurity foretells, but John McCain certainly is a poor choice if he is going to make decisions based on what he thinks TV news is telling him. John McCain is of the generation that believes what he sees on TV, but one would think that with his experience he would know better.

Update: Or, why McCain might brilliant, Scott Adams
