Tonight, John McCain will ditch Palin, and announce Lieberman as his VP. He will stop all negative attacks, withdraw his ill conceived health insurance to the insurance companies proposal and endorse Obama's middle class tax cuts. His selling points will be his experience, his preference for smaller government and his stay the course view of Iraq. These were McCain's winning themes before his Bush League move of selecting Sarah Palin. He will no longer have to claim he is a "maverick" but will instead just be one.
However, doing the above makes Obama's case that McCain is "erratic."
It comes down to this. John McCain has no winning strategy. Selecting Sarah Palin, who is too outside the loop of national politics to even comport herself for interviews, proved McCain is too reckless for the top job.
Congratulations, Obama/Biden.
