Poems

Sanitary Landfill

Bulldozers, dump trucks, scruffy old men
Flat glass in the shape of panes
Flat glass rejected by recycling centers
Concrete barracades
Broken glass
Seagulls, splashing mud roads
The rotten, half-rotten, the slightly unwanted
A Hill that gets higher, an Ocean
On a winter day

Recharged

Trail mix, dinner rolls, water, Mountain Dew
Glass tank on full
Toenails clipped
Unencumbered by keys
CDs and books from friends, just cracked open
Calls made
Grocery bags full
Worries to manufacture
