Fantasy Baseball

Now that I have the Roku MLB Premium Package, I can look at my pitchers more often. Billy Wagner, in his first appearance of the year, looks spectacular for the Mets. Buchholz, Harang and Santana look good. Neftali Feliz of the Rangers looks spectacular. K-Rod was not so impressive in his two walk shutout inning.

I still battle with keeping outfielders in the CBS league, and may be trying too hard as several castaways are having good weeks. How much will Jake Fox play next week? I won't keep him to be on the bench with a half dozen solid outfielders available.

In both leagues, pitching is uncharacteristically for me yielding wins and high WHIP and high ERA. Usually, it has been the opposite. In the Yahoo League, though I am not bumping the innings limit, neither is anyone else, so it makes sense to carry an extra low WHIP reliever. In the CBS league, the Bazookas might also benefit from extra relievers to lower WHIP and ERA. Neftali Feliz is perhaps the key for both teams. If he has a clone, my teams could use the clone as well. (Maybe, Wagner?)

I get to keep up to seven players on my CBS League, and I suspect all of them will be free agent pickups except Pablo Sandoval, who becomes my $10 franchise third baseman. Should I also keep Posada for $14? Tommy Hanson and Neftali Feliz at book value seem to be a lock. Both are expected to start. Two relief pitchers look like pretty solid bets to keep-- Wagner and Howell, as closers are expensive in this league with it mandatory to carry four actual RPs. Outfielders also seem to carry a premium in this league. Snider at $11? Pence at $22? Coghlan at book value? I will have decisions to make.
