Regular Season, over, mercifully

Spring Training, my favorite season, can not come soon enough. The Yahoo League was fun-- came in fourth, but first still seemed possible two days ago. The CBS League got off to a bad start and never recovered. Both ranks are my worst ever. I have played in at least one Yahoo league every year since 2001 and this is my second CBS League.

There were positives-- Buster Posey in the Yahoo League was amazing. Mike Stanton in both leagues was very good. There are keepers that have value for next year in the CBS League.

The nice things about coming in fourth were that: a) it was a competitive fourth and b) 1-7 were very strong players. I watched as several teams loaded their pitching staffs for a strong last weekend finish. It worked for all of them, my team included. What my team lacked was any sort of hitting push during the last several days. Wright, Posey and Stanton produced during the final week, but Lance Berkman barely played and Jay Bruce got his four homeruns on days I benched him against left handed starting pitchers.

Do my worst finishes ever correspond with the higher ticket prices of Target Field and seeing fewer games this year? If so, I assume the Twins will do well in the post-season to try to make it up to me.
