Fantasy Baseball-- Week 22

Asakusabashi is solidly in third place, 5 points away from second or fourth place. Ballywood returns to first place.

Mice and men lay out their best plans, but Hurricane Irene changes them. The two start pitchers last week were Matt Cain (3.000 ERA,11K, 0.8000 WHIP), who was excellent despite no wins and Brandon Morrow (9.900, 10, 2.1000), who was terrible, but at least brought the Ks. Mike Minor (W, 5.400, 6, 1.2000) and Ricky Nolasco (5.400, 8, 1.5000) lost starts to Irene. Fortunately enough, Roy Halladay (benched) lost his start and becomes a two-starter this week. CC Sabathia (3.682, 7 K, 1.091) gets two starts this week, unless the Yankees have a six-man rotation. Kuroda and Nolasco also look to be two-time starters. Acquisition, Francisco Cordero (W, 2.250 ERA, 3K, 3SV, 0.7500), and fellow Ohio closer, Chris Perez (W, 0.000, 4K, 2SV, 1.3636), each won games, which is handy if the starters will not. Though the team ERA was not great, a point was made up. Also, a point was made up in Ks, where there might be two more points, with some two-start pitchers. Overall, pitching is hanging tough. New adds for next week are prospect, still awaiting call up, Matt Moore, and newly minted closer of the day, Jason Motte.

Last Week:
5 wins=3 places. 11 saves = 3 places. 0.025 WHIP= 3 places. 28K=3 places. 0.02 ERA= 2 places or 0.17ERA= 4 places.

This Week:
2 wins=2places, 7 wins=4 places. 8 saves=3 places. 28K= 3 points. 11 saves= 4 places. 0.030 WHIP=3 places. 0.16 ERA = 3 places.

Corey Hart (0.5000, 3HR, 9R, 5RBI, 2SB) had the number two Week 21 in CBS. Matt Kemp (0.2963, 3, 8, 8, 1) is now at 30/30. Brandon Phillips (0.3846, 0, 5, 4, 1) and Brett Lawrie (0.3636, 2, 4, 4, 0) were solid. Pence (0.4375, 1, 5, 3, 0) did well in a hurricane shortened week. Choo (0.3636, 2, 2, 5, 0) had a two homer day, just after becoming a father, before hurting his trunk and will sit this week. Jose Reyes is back in the active roster. Eric Young is a PT risk, but I need the steals. Jason Heyward, also a PT risk, is generally good for a HR after a break, and the hurricane gave him a break.

Last Week:
0.0060 BA = 3 points, 3RBI=1 point and 8 SB=1 point.
This Week:
.0043 BA = 3 points, 1RBI=1/2 point, 15 SB=2 points

These 5.5 points represent first in all five hitting categories. Hanging on to hitting points will be hard enough. Getting to 60/60 hitting points would be unlikely. First place in steals is getting tougher, not easier.

Asakusabashi is cycling closers and RPs for hitters to maximize GP. Napoli (5R, 2HR, 6RBI, .304), Phillips and Lawrie were the top hitters of the week. There are not many points available, but the roster seems to have enough firepower to hang on.
