Fantasy Baseball-- Week 16
Asakusabashi, the CBS team, flirted with first place again this week, then fell back into second place at 92.5. Ballywood, the Yahoo team, flirted with second place, then returned to first place.
Pitching gained a point a piece in Ks, ERA, WHIP and W. Following the All-Star break, there were only one-start pitchers. Morrow (W, 1.350, 6K, 0.9000) and Liriano (W, 1.286, 4K, 1.2857) plus Perkins (W, 0.00, 3K, 0.00) got wins. Nolasco (0.000, 7K, 1.1429) allowed nothing earned in a loss. Garcia (1.286, 6K, 0.8571) and Kuroda (4.500,7K,0.8333) were also also unlucky non-winners. There were more unearned runs allowed than earned runs allowed during this post-all star period, so that part was lucky. The relief corps picked up four saves-- Feliz, Farnsworth and Perez were not scored upon. It was a half-week of exceptional pitching. Mike Dunn, closer assuming a Leo Nunez trade, was added and Perkins dropped. Rubby De La Rosa looks to be a week 17 two-starter, so was added. Two-starters for 16 are Roy Halladay, Francisco Liriano, and Alexi Ogando.

The power stroke returned as HR, R, and RBI were above the strong established season pace. Kemp (0.3333, 2HR, 3R, 5RBI), Stanton (0.3125, 2HR, 4R, 4RBI) and Hart (0.2000, 2HR, 4R,3RBI) each had a two-homerun series. Prince Fielder (0.3636) was the leader in average, as season BA dipped below .270. Rafael Furcal, who went hitless, was dropped. I hope the trade rumors about him are true, as Dee Gordon is on the fantasy bench and no one stole a base this period.
