Fantasy Baseball-- Week 10
Rankings remain stable. Ballywood gained 4 points to 92 and remains in first place. Ballywood may soar toward 120/120 points. Asakusabashi lost 0.5 points and remains in second place at 88.5 points.
Matt Kemp (9-22 .409 BA, 4 HR,13 RBI,6 R,1 SB), Andres Torres (9-31 .290 BA,1 HR, 8 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB) and J. P. Arrencibia (5-21 .238 BA, 2B, HR, 5 RBI, 4 R) hit grand slams toward big weeks. Stanton and Fielder both hit 2HR. Moreland hit 2HR plus a SB.Granderson had 2SB. A-Rod added both a HR and a SB. The weekly hitting stats were once again excellent.
Weekly pitching stats were also good in week 9. Garcia (8 Ks) and Ogando (6Ks) both won their game, each allowing 1er and 5br in 8ip. Halladay (3.86, 1.21) struck out 11 and won both games. Starters, Morrow (9Ks) and Minor did not contribute positively. Likewise, Nolasco and Kuroda had poor starts while benched. Feliz had 3 saves; Farnsworth 2 saves; Perez none. Uehara (a non-closer behind Kevin Gregg, the inferior pitcher) replaces Fuentes (Andrew Bailey took his role). Edwin Jackson replaces Mike Minor.
Liriano comes off the DL as a 2-start pitcher. Equally scary, Brandon Morrow has two starts. Ogando, Garcia and Halladay will be one start pitchers. Franklin Gutierrez, freshly off the DL (0-18 last week) only starts if I haven't heard word that Brett Lawrie, the phenom who bruised his hard just before he was to join the Blue Jays, will be active Tuesday. 4:00 pm-- Speedster, Dee Gordon, is activated, so I add him and drop Gutierrez.

Ballywood pulled the trigger on a Felix Hernandez for Evan Longoria trade. With Ryan Zimmerman about ready to come off the DL, Evan not really performing anyway and with hitting capable of 60/60 points (if BA improves), I offered this trade after declining it a week earlier. Starting pitching has yet to click. WHIP at 1.29 is in tenth place. ERA at 3.64 is in eighth place. Both are categories where Felix should be able to contribute. The top players this week were Elvis Andrus (12/27, 7r, 1hr, 7 rbi, 4 sb) and Michael Bourn (.344, 7sb). Teixeira hit 3hr and Napoli hit 2hr. Bedard (3.37, 1.20) and Carpenter (2.57, 1.29) struck out 14 each in 27+ IP, but neither got a win. Wilson, Kimbrel and Valverde picked up 8 saves and 10K/9ip without allowing a run. Peavy was dropped upon injuring himself. Jordan Zimmerman replaces Mike Melancon. Brett Lawrie (another reason it felt safe to trade Longoria) replaces Dominic Brown. Eric Young, jr., was added a week ago.
