Fantsy Baseball-- Week 6
The Asakusabashi Fishiokas, at 84.5 points for the third consecutive week, are still in second place. Ballywood, the Yahoo team, advances to 86 points, back to first place.
The most notable performances were on the bench-- Francisco Liriano's no hitter with 6 BBs and Jamie Garcia's 2 hitter with no walks. Nonetheless, both teams benefited from solid starting pitching. Madison Bumgarner was picked up for Yahoo and had 12Ks in 13IP. He allowed just one ER and 12br. Clay Buchholz had 2 wins for CBS, 8Ks, 1.54 ERA, 1.11 WHIP. Nolasco had 13Ks and de la Rosa 11Ks in their two-start weeks. Jackson ended up with just one start (v. Liriano) and allowed 7br, 1r in 8IP. Jackson and Morrow are scheduled two start pitchers next week. Though the CBS bench was most impressive, all pitchers were impressive. Daniel Hudson also had a comeback week for Yahoo-- 6Ks, 6br, 0er, 7ip and a win. The overall number three ranked player of the week, and the top for Ballywood, was Brian Wilson-- 2W, 3S, 7K, 0er.
The top CBS hitters were Reyes (11-25, 0.440 BA, 5 RBI, 3 R, 2 SB), Adrian Gonzalez (9-28, 0.321 BA, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 7 R) and Granderson (7-24, 0.292 BA, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 8 R). The top Yahoo hitters were Lind (9/18,.500 BA, 4 R, 2 HR, 5 RBI), Victorino ( 8/24, .333, 3 R, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 2SB) and Teixeira (7/26,.269,5 R,2 HR,4 RBI).
The Yahoo team adds closers Melancon and Padilla. 3B is now filled by Lowrie, with Figgins dropped. There were no adds or drops for Asakusabashi. I would stream pitchers if there was a droppable player. The most droppable players are Derrek Lee (3HR for the week), Corey Hart (not yet untracked) and Brian Fuentes (2S, but Andrew Bailey nearly ready to take over). Mitch Moreland is becoming more firmly established as Nelson Cruz, yet another Ranger OF, is injured.
