Fantasy Baseball-- Week 12

Asakusabashi is in second place at 88.5, trailing by 11.5 points. Ballywood, at 96.5 points leads by 11. Ballywood points rank 3809 in Yahoo; I brag when the team makes the top 1000.

Jose Reyes, with 6SB, was the top performer for Asakusabashi. Kemp added 3 SB. 12 SB total was a strong performance for the team. Curtis Granderson (9-28,0.321 BA, HR,7 RBI,7 R) was solid all around. Following the 23 HR outburst the previous week, only 3HR were hit.

Kurodo (1.35 ERA, .90 WHIP, 12 K) led two start pitchers. Garcia (3.18, 1.50, 12) also pitched well. I watched potential wins disappear when the relievers came in. Nolasco (11.25, 2.63, 3) only managed 8ip in two starts, and will be benched until he shows a turn around, though at Seattle it is nonetheless tempting to start him. Ogando (9.45, 1.95, 4), who pitched at Yankee stadium was benched and will stay benched at home against the Mets. Halladay (5.14, .86, 8) and Liriano (3.46, 1.43, 8) were the one starters. They deserved wins too, but instead were victimized by cheap timely hits. Morrow (W, 0.00, 0.90, 6), who was benched, was the only rostered pitcher to win. If Morrow uncorks, pitching categories might finally turn around. 59Ks and 4 S were excellent, though with three two-starters, the week had more potential. This week, Halladay is the two start pitcher.

Travis Hafner was added, coming off an oblique injury, even though he won't be playing much in NL parks. Jed Lowrie (0-4, then DL) was dropped due to shoulder issues.

King Felix (3.86, 1.43, 5) has yet to uncork for Ballywood. But five pitchers won: Bedard (W, 0.00, 0.43, 5K/7IP), D. Hudson (W, 1.00, .44, 5/9), Pineda (W, 1.5, 0.83, 5/6), Bumgarner (W, 3.00, 1.00, 6/6) and Zimmermann (W, 2.84, 1.58, 2/6+). The team is now 65 IP above pace, so while good K/9 ratios will keep the K points, the team may lose some ground in Ws later in the year. (Hitting games available are behind pace, especially at U, so carrying fewer pitchers and having extra roster flexibility may help hitting categories late in the year.) Victorino (.419, 2HR, 7RBI, 2SB, 6R), Andrus (.357, 5R, 2SB) and Howard (.348, 2HR, 5RBI, 4R) led Ballywood hitters. As with the CBS team, Ballywood dropped Lowrie for Hafner. Heyward and Victorino came off the DL. Napoli went to the DL. Posada (now sitting in NL parks), then Arencibia were added.
