Fantasy Baseball-- Final 1/2 week

Asakusashi gained 4 points to 91, and a tie for second place. Great pitching is the reason for the advance. The season may end at anywhere from second place to forth place, based on the next few days. With five closers, there is a reasonable chance to gain a point or two in saves. Also, there is a good chance to maintain the gains in the wins column and in batting average. A 6 HR lead should be safe for the next three days. For Ballywood, ERA and SV are in play for another point, HR and RBI are in play to lose a point, and the lead of 7 over second place seems secure.

Pitching Performances:
Wednesday-- Jamie Garcia (0.000 ERA, 6K, 0.4286), who pitches again tonight gave up four runs, all unearned, and won the game.
Wednesday-- Javier Vazquez (0.000, 6, 0.4286) won after giving up two hits in 7IP. He has the only other start to go this season for Asakusabashi.
Wednesday-- CC Sabathia (2.454, 6, 1.2273) pitched well, but did not win. The Yankees sadly had him pitch a simulated game Sunday instead of a final tune-up start.
Friday-- Chris Perez (0.000, 2, 0.3333) picked up a win. He also has two saves this period.
Saturday-- Jason Motte (13.500, 6, 1.5000) picked up a win. He also has two saves.
Sunday-- Roy Halladay (2.571, 9, 1.0714) pitched a shutout in his second game of the period and got the win.
Francisco Cordero (4.500, 2, 1.5000) had two saves.
Neftali Feliz (0.000, 1, 1.0000) had two saves.
Kyle Farnsworth (0.000, 2, 0.0000) pitched the ninth on Saturday night, just after Johnny Damon turned a save situation into a 5-1 lead with a 3 run HR. Joel Peralta got the save opportunity on Sunday. Whether Farnsworth or Peralta gets future save opportunities will likely determine second place.

All the starters have pitched exceptionally so far, with two more starts to go. Outstanding pitching, and two wins by relievers have been key.

Brett Lawrie (broken finger), Hunter Pence, Jesus Guzman, Paul Goldschmidt were all injured Monday or Tuesday. All but Lawrie are back for the end of the year. The strong BA week is worth a point, but this is a very precarious point.
